Wild Rose Shows was recently in Athabasca Alberta. it was so much fun to be at the carnival in our town. With great views of the river from the ferris wheel, to delicious treats hanging out with friends. The screams of children having a great time were heard all over town. This Carnival is a great way to experience any community. I felt the prices were affordable. Your best bang for your buck is to get the day pass. I had a great time at this event and I look forward to seeing them in Athabasca Alberta Again!

After the injuries that happened at our local fair on the midway a couple of years ago, I was hesitant to bring my daughter (she is 9) this year. I was pleasantly surprised though! The staff seemed more attentive/interested in their duties. The part that prompted me to leave a review though was with one of the games attendants. My daughter has a (fairly noticeable) developmental delay. The game she was playing was a very easy one (I think maybe even a guaranteed prize?), and so she plays and is given her choice of one of the lowest tier prizes. What she really wanted though was one of the more mid-tier prizes; an inflatable Minecraft-style axe. The attendant, with a bit of a wink and a “just don’t tell my boss”, let her have the axe. Not only did it make my daughter’s entire day, but nearly two months later she is still playing with it all the time. A few weeks ago I came into my room to go to bed, and she had tucked it into my spot. Tonight, it was being “evil”, and her favourite stuffed animal and some other random toys teamed up to defeat it. She tells me it is her “favourite inflatable pickaxe” (even though she only has one).

So, thank you, to that attendant, (and assumably their boss as well for being decent enough that they felt comfortable giving away a slightly more expensive prize to a small girl with a developmental delay without too much fear of being reprimanded). It really has been a highlight of my daughter’s summer so far, and we’ll definitely be back next year!

Pins for the outrigger legs on both sides of the slide in Vegreville had no safety pins on them. Pretty sketchy.

While browsing through Instagram, an advertisement for a carnival appeared in my feed, prompting me to take my niece and nephew to the event. We have visited carnivals in several countries due to our frequent travels. However, this particular carnival is one I would unequivocally avoid and not recommend to anyone. The cost of the rides was exorbitant, considering they lasted only about one minute. I expressed to one of the ride attendants that charging 5-10 tickets per child for a ride that only goes around four times is a significant rip-off. Additionally, two other ride attendants were quite rude and lacked customer service skills. The attendant supervising the merry-go-round displayed a very unpleasant demeanor when interacting with guests. Furthermore, another attendant overseeing the bumper cars within the same told my young nephew to "get out now" when he accidentally entered through the exit. I felt compelled to intervene, informing him that such a manner of speaking is inappropriate and should not be repeated. It would be more courteous to ask someone to exit politely if they mistakenly enter the wrong way, rather than shouting, "get out now." His justification was that he was learning English. Overall, my experience taking the kids out was very brief, and the entire carnival experience was not worth it. A complete overhaul of this carnival is necessary, from the staff to the excessively short ride durations. I shared this experience with the contact center as well.

Millwoods May 2025, great staff, good food. I can't say enough about the amazing service the staff gave. On the swing ride, the lady offered to let us pick the music. On the Ferris wheel ride, the guys running it were funny and efficient. It was a great experience!

I will say one of the corn dog ladies takes her corn dogs very seriously. Do not joke about corn dogs....

We had fun at WRS in Athabasca. Every staff member we interacted with was polite and helpful. The grounds were tidy. The rides we sat in were clean.
Looking forward to their return next year.

Very awful service, the office stuff were rude and not professional to answer the questions. I lined up for more than four hours for Zippers, they close before i get a ride. slow and low service.

Took the family Saturday, 2 of my kids first time going on rides (2 and 3 year old) both loved the little cars and the train, and my 6 year old loved the spider and of course the tilt-a-whirl. Shout out to the fella operating the spider, great customer service. Definitely recommend buying the wristbands especially if you are going back in the evening, didn't realize my 3 year old could go on most of the rides with me so know for next time when we go to Farmer's days.
