I opened a direct investing account for day trading for stock. I had the worst experience with TD direct investing platform. It is not executing quickly and on time and I lost money. The platform is very slow. Td direct investing charged me $20US Dollar fee per click and they charged me without letting me know that I would be charged. On top of that I lost consistently on my US dollar account. When I had a technical problem and called, nobody could answer my questions because the associates are not trained and educated for the job. Be careful; you can transfer very easily your money into direct investing account but there is no withdraw option after that. If you want your money you have to call and ask them to write a check for you. All brokerages that I work with have a transfer and withdraw option, except TD direct investing. Do not waste your time and lose your money with TD direct investing. There are other good brokerages much more professional and knowledgeable than TD.

I am not sure that anyone at TD Direct Investing is actually paying attention to these reviews. If they did, some things would have changed by now. I am not sure where they hire their staff and what kind of training they get, but they frequently provide incorrect information that directly impacts customer financial well being. The disappointing part is that the TD DI management is insulated from all this and they don't seem to care. Why would they? It is not THEIR money that is affected. Quite shameful!

Absolutely horrible experience. I opened an RDSP with them in October. They got the name wrong when they sent the account info to the CRA and therefore my account was not registered. It was the end of the year so my eligibility for a large sum of grants was coming to an end. TD customer service was TERRIBLE and they were completely unable to help me recover from this. I had to close the account with them (another nightmare!!) and open it with another institution that has been wonderful and "saved the day". I continue to have problems with this account not being closed properly and repeated delays with the RDSP grants as a result. I will NEVER invest with TD again - although I have had my bank accounts with TD for 45 years. TD Direct Investing ARE AWFUL - Go there at your own risk!

DISASTER: A total lack of competent personnel! No web broker access for more than a week...I registered with Web Broker, to take advantage of the 1% rebate (and 100 free trades). Since then, it's been chaos. So far, 4 days with NO web access to the site & any info!! And more to come. After my first day of trading, TD mistakenly "de-registered" my account. I suddenly had no access. Over 3 days, 5 people, (including two "supervisors") still have not been able to reconnect my access!! What's worse, each time i phoned back, another person (and then a supervisor) told me the previous person didn't address the problem correctly. I twice have had to drive to my local bank teller to be "authenticated" on a live phone line. Now a manager has taken over, with a further 3 day wait until I even get a diagnosis and a time frame for reconnecting me! Oh, and I was told, "If you want to trade, you can always call it in"... If not for the obvious benefits of the special offer, ($1,000 in my case) I would have shut everything down...Plus the market right now is wobbling...This is absolute, unmitigated incompetence!
It's not rocket science: TD had only one job: web access. And they can't get it right!

Started a transfer back in June, still has not landed where it supposed to, TD this is 2024 better up your system and transfer process
