Surex was recommended to me to find inexpensive home insurance for my first home. I was contacted for a quote and the initial person I dealt with was super friendly and the quote was reasonable. I was in a time crunch and they told me that they would be able to make it happen for me. I don't know what happened but after the initial quote I could not get a hold of my contact there. Someone else answered my call, no issue, but I had to get some information from my lawyer and get back to him. He acted extremely annoyed when I didn't have this information readily available but as a first time home buyer I was unsure of the process. When I called back to provide the information there was no answer, I got no call back, I called back a few times and it was about 4pm before my call was answered. I had everything sorted out and they just needed to contact the insurance company to get approval but of course they were closed. Again, not an issue but I was in a time crunch and it was known to them. The next day I waited an hour after they opened and called to check on the process. I needed insurance by 1:30 pm. I called about once an hour and I got sent to voicemail multiple times immediately and 2 times my call was answered and then immediately I was hung up on. At 1pm I was sent a text that they couldn't insure me and I should go somewhere else. Luckily, at 12 I had called another broker and gotten home insurance in under an hour and every question I asked was answered kindly. I would not recommend ever going to Surex. They were not helpful and not willing to work with me.
