Starlight group investments bought our buildings couples of years ago. Since then we have all those issues and problems in our buildings.Water shutdown twice this week alone from 9 an to 5 pm. Imagine what we are going thru with this greedy and unreliable management for past couples of years now. Water shutdown almost once a month, electricity shutdown, elevators,cleaning, parking and security issues and alot more. But management doesn't forget to raise rent every year. Updated on June 25th 2025,Full Power Shutdown from 9 am to 5pm June 25th 2025. Since June 22th 2025 we are in heating warming in Toronto. Temperatures outside is feeling like close to 45 degrees and since June 22th 2025 we have Power Shutdown in our building. Shame on Starlight Investments. Pure evil big Corporations greed.

Extremely poor management — insensitive and irresponsible. They keep harassing tenants in various ways: sometimes they shut down the elevator, other times they cut off the electricity. They don’t even answer calls in emergencies.

Starlight is brutal organizing which will torture its tanents by shutting down the electrical power to the all the units of 71 Thorncliffe Park Drive so they don't call the news media on them. Do not move into the buildings of 71 75 and 79 you will regret this decision.

We are living in a WW2 era in 71 Thorncliffe park drive. You name it: Mouse, bedbugs, cockroaches,power and water shut down, no security....

Since Starlight bought our building our life has become very difficult. The elevators break down all the time and are not fixed properly. Sometimes I have to wait 30 minutes for elevator. When we ask for repairs in our unit they do it very cheaply and poorly. Our floor is broken, our cabinets are broken and none of them close properly, and when our appliances don’t work they replace them with older appliances that also don’t work. Now we only request things if they are urgent, since they will just make it worse. We also have problems with hot water and heating, and they shut down the water often. For 4 years it has been non stop construction with noise and dust. I would give zero stars if I could.

Starlight group investments are making money off their tenants. There is frequent water shutdowns, elevators are always in poor condition, I strongly believe that one day someone will lose their life while stuck or by falling off of the elevator. The hallways are poorly ventilated. The construction work is crazy. When it rains, no person with a wheelchair can come out of the building. Parking security is also bad. My car got vandalized twice. And there is no acceptable response for the management. Even if the neighbours gather as a group for answers, we are being interacted with very rudely and no one is ready to give a response. I don’t recommend this building. Please stay away from Starlight investment group.

As a resident of 71 Thorncliffe Park drive, which belongs to Starlight Investments, I regret to say that my experience with this landlord has been very disappointing. The building has been plagued with constant issues, including ongoing elevator problems that make it difficult to get around, especially for those with mobility issues. There have also been frequent water shut downs without adequate notice, which is extremely inconvenient. Additionally, construction in the building is never-ending, causing noise and disruption at all hours. Despite bringing these concerns to the landlord's attention multiple times, there has been little to no effort to address them. I would not recommend renting here if you value your peace of mind and quality of living.

I am a resident of 75 Thorncliffe park Drive. Before starlight we were living quietly and calmly in our building.
There is now a complete chaos in the building.
They started renovating balconies and all the residents were kept in continuous stress because of continuous drilling noise. Another terrible problem started that the started renovating parking lot and assigned visitors parking to to the tenants, which cause a lot of problems. it was a total chaos because of the landlord, as they didn't wipe out the visitors parking. They told tenants to tow the car if somebody park in their place.
Since the landlord had taken the charge, there is a norm for every month that the water is shut down completely. Some times tenants have cold water through two or three days and tenants had to suffer. In winter tenants don't have hot water and one can imagine how terrible it is.
Also in winter they didn't start heating when it was due. Tenants were using their heaters to warm up the room. For a low income family it was too much, but the management didn't care. Tenants are being treated biasedly. The older tenants are not allowed to have any renovation and the management tell them, as they are paying less, so they can't do anything. For the Starlight everything is money. Nevertheless tenants are the sufferer.
There is another strange thing for the elevators. There is no up or down button. If you have to go up, first you will have to go down and then it will take you up.
There are more concerns but Starlight has also applied to raise our rent very high above the guideline.
They did only work to the outside but nothing has changed from inside for the tenants.
