I followed up with a complaint to the manager, Jamie. He called me back and heard my concerns. Not only that, but he specifically told me what he was going to do to offer coaching to the employee. I felt heard and seen, and my issues were addressed. Jamie demonstrated to me that he truly understands customer service. Happy to see that it does in fact still exist 😊.

Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience at this bank today. I was actually on hold with Royal Bank finally a complaint and they hung up on me. Not the best day for my experience with RBC. I spoke to a teller today who was very dismissive and condescending. I needed help accessing US money. In the end I left because they were so unhelpful. I didn’t feel comfortable going back and asking. I tried to call the branch after getting back to work, but unfortunately, I can only call through the main RBC. Customer service is no more.

I have made appointments with Febin and Julian for separate banking topics I wanted addressed. I came in with very little understanding on both topics and left with a much better understanding, as well as having a more strategic approach that addressed the purpose for the appointments.

Hi Halifax.
Today, I visited the Waterside branch for the first time in a while. In the past, I avoided this location due to several negative experiences with the former manager, who was often irresponsible and disrespectful.
Today, I felt that the vibe of the branch is different. It was friendlier, disciplined and supportive.
Out of curiosity, I asked around and learned that the former manager had left Waterside, which made me hopeful as this branch is conveniently located near my workplace, and our company does significant business there.

In a very short time full of happiness, however, I was disappointed to see the former manager there to train the new manager. It concerns me that someone who struggled to manage the branch effectively is now responsible for training others.

RBC what are you doing? If you value your customers, please ensure the new manager receives appropriate training to maintain the positive changes and not revert to past issues.

Please, Please, don't ruin this new manager. Let us breathe!

Disastrous managerial system:

I am not a review guy, but after various observations for long hours staying in the lines, I decided to write this for the RBC Waterside Branch. I hope the decision makers in RBC, Halifax, NS, take this into careful consideration.
Twice, I tried that branch and waited for a long time in the line (in both visits I left without having my work done). In the first visit, there were two staff at the front-line helping people, whom I indeed appreciate. I searched for the manager to let them know that they need more staff to support, but she didn’t even come to hear my request. Even people in the line told me that a couple of them tried to reach out to the manager, but she refused to talk to them. They said she was hiding herself from people. So, I didn't say anything and left the branch and went somewhere else.
The existing manager I believe is irresponsible and not caring. She was even irresponsible to her staff when they wanted her. I remember on both my visits, which happened to be failures ( after waiting for long, I left as a result of long lines), I understood the manager was not even supportive of their staff let alone clients: poor the staff.
RBC (Waterside Branch) if you read this, seriously take an action and Please train this manger first then give a branch to her to manage. Please remind her that people are your customers and deserve a better reaction from the manager.
