I have had problems with applying for my student loans for the past two years, until today. I went into their Halifax office and was helped by a lady named Kathy. She resolved all of my issues within 20 minutes of being there and answered all my questions that I had! I will now always opt for going into the office to get in-person help.

I recieve no help aside from federal. I struggle and contacted Federal, which they tell me they cant help and that I have to contact Ns provincial but they say I get enough through federal. I miss grants, i pay out of pocket every year which leaves me in more debt. They told me I reported 8k as a prestudy for years when I have $0 every single year.

I haven’t had a good experience with the Nova Scotia Student Loan office for the three years i’ve attempted getting loans. There is absolutely no consistency, you call one day and have everything figured out just for someone to email you the next day saying something the complete opposite. Hours should really be updated since you can’t call them, there are issues that really cannot be fixed via email or the “question section”. It’s like they want you to fail and not be able to fund your education. I have yet to have any sort of positive interaction with this office. Extremely frustrating. Take forever to respond to your questions until they want/need something from you. I wish I lived somewhere else just so I didn’t have to deal with this office. I am now working full time hours while having a full course load due to having no idea when my loan is coming in 🙂

My loan came 3.5 months late because they sent it to the wrong address. Took me almost daily phone calls where the reps straight up lied to me about the entire ordeal with the "managers" knowing just as much as the normal reps.
