After raising my already absurd insurance costs without any notice, Intact insurance sent me a vague bill saying I owed them another 140$ without listing why. After calling 6 separate times over two weeks - no option other than going directly to Voicemail - I left 4 separate voicemails to call me back. No calls returned at all.
Eventually, when I physically entered the store to ask some questions while considering COVID, I was asked if I had made an appointment to see them. I pointed out that I cannot make an appointment if nobody answers the phone. When the insurance agent eventually saw me, he pointed out that my moving to a poorer neighbourhood incurred a nearly 10% increase in my PL/PD insurance (even after being required to pay $900+ up front, and having never crashed my car or filed any claims in 15 years of driving.) The agent then said he would try to get a refund based on my driving history (like the previous year) but "some years they just don't do that." Then he claimed he would email me back regarding their response.

Surprise: No emails. No communication.

I suppose when they already have your money, and can legally cancel your insurance w/o notice, why would they care?

Tried to call in here to get a car insurance quote for my son and got rudely told my 17yr old son would have to call in and I can’t do it for him. Last time I do any business with this place.
