Doesn't bother to answer the phone, doesn't call back after voicemails. If you show up you are literally turned away and told to make an appt but again, they don't answer the phones.

The folks in town warned us that Colleen has favorites and it's blatantly clear she's not here to help but will actively let the folks who need the food bank starve.

Just moved to Saskatchewan and started using the food bank... things were pretty cool until today when my husband went and I stayed home with the grandkids. My dad and his friend got more in 1 box than we did, my daughter got 2 pretty decently filled boxes as she has 2 kids, usually I get the same as my daughter because I have 2 other children at home but this time we got 1 box and didn't even get what the 2 single men got. Sounds like my husband talking to a kid upset the intake lady with the head injury or brain injury and figured somehow that he gave her attitude... not okay to be vindictive in this environment.
UPDATE:
Since this encounter we found out on the next appointment a volunteer is related by marriage and either her or her mother got my uncle to call me to convince me to remove this post which is very unprofessional. For the next appointment they have switched to making an appointment instead of just walk in... totally fine... didn't get same time appointments as my daughter or father when we made them on line so I was going to wait until the next week but when they showed up for their appointments the food bank gave them my hamper as well... what if I wasn't getting along with my family and the foodbank had just screwed me for 2 weeks by giving my hamper to someone else without my permission or me asking them to? Very unprofessional. Then it didn't even seem to be 3 separate hampers... it was like they turned it into 1 hamper for 9 people. We may be living in the same house after escaping the horrors of the downtown east side of Vancouver but we are 3 separate family units as my oldest is an adult and has her own family and my dad has had his own file there for years. I'm starting to wonder if I need to speak with an mla and or news outlet... maybe I'll try a direct call to the head branch.

ANOTHER UPDATE: after trying to go through the proper channels they got a new board guy that tried to be condescending about me being emotional about this then told me he can't control what the volunteers say to family and completely ignored what was happening at the foodbank then said my family is no longer welcome there even though we hadn't been there for months anyway. Yorkton gives out 1 small box once a month while melville gives out 2 decent boxes every 2 weeks... foodbanks are related and need to be on the same page.

Colleen and the staff at Melville Food bank are awesome, Colleen always makes sure there is enough for everyone and nobody has to go hungry, they have a summer backpack program for the kids that make sure they get fresh fruit , snacks and something to eat.

Very unprofessional. Management needs to be retrained. Was going to volunteered but after being treated horribly changed our minds.
