During the beginning of COVID I started to use this store as no one else was open. I appreciated this and on the second visit tipped the clerk 11 dollars on a 9 dollar purchase. I didn’t even get a thank you, not a word out of his mouth. I noticed when I approached him there was no greeting and no thank you after a number of visits. I went in one day and there was a manager standing beside him and he couldn’t have been more polite. I stopped going into this store after I was refused a pencil at the counter. I wanted to fill out a lottery ticket and there was someone filling out sports lottery which can take forever. The clerk told me to use the lottery desk to fill out my ticket and I said it wasn’t a safe distance from the person who was already there. He didn’t care and so I left with no purchase. I haven’t been back to this store but used the one at Davie and Thurlow 2 weeks ago. The clerk here added the extra to my free ticket without even asking. I’ve been buying lottery tickets a long time and this has never happened before. I worked in customer service my whole life and this group needs some serious customer service training.

Clerk challenged me today about my lottery purchase today because I was using my credit card. I always do. Twice a week at the store. He looked like he was going to steal my ticket, but thought again and charged me 2225 cent to ring it through. He then asked me who, I said everyone except you.

Careful with using a debit / credit card at this place. They will slip in a $0.25 service fee without even informing you.
