I am a restoration contractor, I do not provide services in your province however you are the broker for a family member. That person had a wind loss and your company told her not to proceed with a claim because they would loose their claims free discount, and that only the shingles that blew off would be replaced. There was no follow up, in cases where there is roof damage there is always a risk of secondary water damage to the interior. This insured should have been told this and encouraged to make repairs or questioned about any secondary damage. As a broker it is your responsibility to both the coverage provider and the policy holder to confirm coverage and to limit risk. This did not happen on two occasions
This insured has now gone directly to the insurance co. to have this mater addressed. I have recommended that they also find a new broker, one that earns their fee.
