My buddy and I were cycling, trying out gear and training for a trip when we stopped by to see if we could camp here. Still snow on the ground and not really open for camping, let alone cyclists and our hammocks. The awesome new owners not only let us camp, they checked on us and brought over some firewood so we could have a comfortable evening.
Too bad the ratings only go to 5 stars!

Great hosts and very nice campground. Loonie showers only took 1 loonie for a very long time. Hot water too! Full hookups at selected sites, ours was fantastic. Close enough to Lamont to run in and grab whatever you forgot. Hosts very willing to please.

Huge greenspace to toss the ball and walk the dogs. Playground there also.
I recommend checking this place out!

I was able to spend nearly two months here while working in the area. I can tell you the rates are reasonable. I can tell you the facilities are more than adequate and constantly cleaned. I can tell you that the couple who bought it are wonderful and in a constant mission of improvement. I made some friends over my time here (including that crazy lady with the dog) who helped me with my own sanity...sorry Jan 😉 I passionately recommend Lamont campground for any reason at all that might bring to the area including the many tourist places that surround this wonderful stopover. Kayaking/cycling in Elk Island Park amongst the buffalo(10 mins away), quadding the sand dunes north of Bruderheim (15 mins away), Mundare to see the big Sausage (20 mins away and make sure and visit the store), plus many other attractions around the area. They have room for all sizes and shapes with a playground for the kids, propane on site, and owners who go the extra mile to make sure you have a superb experience. Next time we will get out for wing night 😉
