I sometimes feel lawyers are quite intense and make an average person feel intimated. My experience was the complete opposite. I. Purchased a house that was under renovation so it was a longer process and took roughly 7 months to complete. I was back and forth with the lawyers during this time and they were fantastic to deal with. They were patient and great at communicating. The final steps were laid out for me and I didn’t feel unsure when singing documents etc. I got quick, thorough responses when needed. I am very thankful for those of you that helped me, I know there was a few at the end. I have nothing negative to say, I would recommend this law firm to absolutely anybody. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! 5 stars is well deserved.

Due to an unfortunate incident involving the death of my mother, my sister and I began working with Denim Martyn, a wonderful lawyer from this Firm. He immediately explained all of the details that would be involved in this case, along with the potential outcome. Denim was very compassionate and he took the time to explain what we didn't understand, without any legal jargon. He was very efficient in pursuing this matter, and remained empathetic and patient as he answered our many questions and concerns. He regularly updated us; and despite the fact that our case was relatively small, (compared to his many other cases), he was attentive and treated us with respect. He displayed impeccable integrity and provided us with the names of Austin Cooper, and Jasmine Reddekopp, who assisted him. All of them were very professional, and always responded quickly to us. We are very appreciative for all of their service and thankful that this situation was resolved with a reasonable settlement.
It was a pleasure to work with Denim and his colleagues. The service was absolutely stellar and they handled our situation in an exemplary manner.
I would highly recommend Denim to anyone who is faced with a situation such as ours. With my sister being from Saskatchewan and me being from Ontario, I fully expected this process to be much more complicated than he made it. Denim made everything move along so smoothly, without a hitch; it could not have been handled any better!

Here we go again, I posted a review many years ago about my experience with Lakefield in relations to their customer service. I am a long term client of Lakefield, having gone through the transition of Lakefield purchasing Wallace Meschishnick Clackson Zawada (WMCZ) Lawyers. Way back when I had an issue with customer service when we re-wrote our wills. It was taking quite a while, so I phoned and I was told the reason why its taking so long, is that I didn't make an appointment with them. That prompted the first discussion/review where I was the one responsible for scheduling an appointment, where prior to Lakefield, WMCZ would call and ask to schedule the appointment.

So fast forward to 2025. I started a new business and went with a new law firm, an acquaintance from a Non-Profit Board I was on, not realizing they specialized in small businesses. So I decided to transfer our other business represented by Lakefield for 17 years to the new firm. One of the requirements was to have Lakefield release our previous documentation to the new firm. They refused to release the information until I paid their most current invoice. The current invoice was a revised invoice issued almost concurrently with our communication. I took exception to this as I work in the construction industry and invoices are paid after goods are received. Having been a small business client of this group for 17 years, I was quite shocked by, what I would call, their mistrust of our firm, having to pay the invoice of just under $400.00 before releasing documentation. This now became a matter of principle on how Lakefield is treating our small business and our relationship of 17 years.

As a result of our disagreement, I was told in writing that a senior partner would call me. This never occurred. Hence my review rating.
The invoice was paid and I then received my documentation.
