I switched to Helcim based on a friend's recommendation, but unfortunately, I encountered numerous issues with the platform and have decided to revert to my previous provider. The sales team presented Helcim as an outstanding deal, promising me a fee discount. However, the discount turned out to be a fee on sales, rather than the total amount offered. This was very frustrating as the platform did not deliver what was promised in the video call.

Additionally, being a new platform, Helcim had several issues with payment tracking, and a few of my clients were charged twice (though they were refunded within a couple of days). Overall, my experience was negative, and I will be returning to my previous platform.

The only good point of the platform was that I can speak with a representative all the time and the response was fast (within 24h business hours). In the previous platform this process was slower but in my previous platform I had to contact them 1-2 per year and in Helcim I had to contact them over 10x in 6 months.

Review updated. I had several problems with helcim and yesterday I discovered a pretty big one. One of my clients signed for a 1 year contract (recurring payment) and the system just charged the first payment. This happened before and I was able to diagnose fast but I also realize that my revenue dropped quite significantly after I moved to Helcim and now I will have to check every single subscription to check other problems like this. I lost so much money in revenue since I moved to Helcim from my previous platform. Worse business decision so far.

From the minute we engaged with questions to follow up tweaking of the system everything has gone smoothly. Website design and ease of use is amazing as well as in office equipment. Switched to Helcim after leaving Square. First of all, for those of you who are looking for this particular Q & A, yes they speak great English and with accents that you can understand (truly a miracle). Their platform is very similar and easy to use, but with a few extra perks and flexibility with the software! I thought there would be a learning curve, but I was surprised when I found out their customer service team ACTUALLY answers the phone, and responds! No ridiculous automated menus or waiting on hold for 2 hours (like Square). Every bump in the road or technical issue has been greeted with politeness and solid answers. Thanks Helcim for helping me pull my business together after Square's bad breakup. I couldn't do it without you!

Account rejected upon opening so I left one star then approved so I changed to 5 star.
Update:
We found out that for processing over-the-phone credit cards Helcim is asking for customers name, address, even postal code. That is utterly ridiculous. It's the only processor asking for those information.
We just cannot ask that much information from customers on the phone; fells like privacy policy violation. We won't be moving forward with Helcim, Unfortunately!
Update again:
Decided to get the terminal anyway.
From one star went up to 3 because that card reader is such a little, compact and beautiful terminal. Love it. This review is subject to future updates. 😉

I needed to find a new merchant and POS provider for my business after Quickbooks continuously increased my pricing while giving no added value to me from a service standpoint! I heard about HELCIM through a business acquaintance and thought I would look into them and do some research. After initially signing up and looking at them I was very pleased with what I saw. I received a welcome email and a welcome call from them which was wonderful! Soon after starting my account I received an email from a lady called Stephanie regarding my account and setting up some trust and security failsafes. Initially I was a little concerned about this measure but thought I would just give them the chance to explain everything to me. The speed of Stephanies responses not only on email but also via a telephone call were fantastic! Stephanie explained in detail everything to me and made me feel at ease.I feel truly valued already as a customer!

I am completely satisfied with the service of Helcim. I have tried a few companies in the past for my business ( Stripe and Authorized.net) and whether they were lacking in knowledge, training, or were overly complicated, the customer service was always an issue. Since I have found Helcim, all my processes have become much smoother.

I would like to express my gratitude to two people who have helped me very clearly and kindly information: Mrs. Shirley in the sales team and Mrs. Stephanie in the Credit Risk team. They are very knowledgeable, quick in their responses, and amazing helpers.
