Glenn and Sandy are by far the best. We have had 2 GSD trained by them and now our 2 English Springer Spaniel pups. The dogs always have wagging tails. They not only train your dog but train you so you can continue with the obedience when you are home. Having 2 puppies I could not have done this without their help. I now have the knowledge to keep them well behaved. Thank you again for all you do!

I have been a client of Goldwing Kennels for over 15 years, I've had 3 GSP's trained by Glen and Sandy, I've spent dozens of days at their kennel, and I've recommended them to several other people. They are, without a doubt, one of the best in the business! My dogs are my family, and I am very protective of them. Glen uses a soft hand, but his methods are incredibly effective. If your dog is your best friend, training at Goldwing Kennels will be the best money you ever spend!

I sent Willow away to complete gun dog training at Goldwing Kennels in April of 2022. Before sending her away I had a bird crazy, prey driven dog that showed great instinct, but lacked discipline. She was strictly running off of natural instinct to point birds, but last year she was quick enough to catch a pheasant. This led to her becoming unsteady and busting birds in an attempt to catch them herself. She was never much of a retriever and really didn’t like the water. Before sending her away I called multiple trainers in Alberta and received comments like “she’s to old” (she was 2.5 at the time) and “get a Lab, GSPs don’t make good retrievers”. Thankfully through a friend I was recommended to Glen and Sandy at Goldwing Kennels. When I sent my email stating Willow’s faults (to no fault of her own, just my lack of knowledge and time training), there was no questions asked they said to send her down. After almost 5 months of training I could not be happier with her results. I now have a disciplined, steady dog that retrieves and is ready to take on the hunting season. I can’t thank Glen and Sandy enough for their time training, compassion and care for Willow over the last few months. Likewise, for them taking the time with me to make me a better dog handler and trainer. When you have a kennel full of dogs for training based solely on word of mouth you know they are doing something right. Although the works not over, Willow now has the foundation and I have the knowledge to continue her training in the field and at home.

Contacted this breeder to submit an application, then life got a bit hectic and I missed an email from her asking for confirmation. Most people would simply move on. This lovely lady sent this email instead:

" I just wanted to thank you for not responding to my last email asking for confirmation on your interest in a puppy. I look for many qualities in the people I consider placing our pups with but one very basic one is common courtesy. I thought by your application that you would have a good home to offer but I am very grateful that you showed me otherwise as I saw that common courtesy is a quality you do not possess. Thanks again...Sandy"

Bullet = Dodged! The nature of online applications and marketing through Kijiji is that sometimes people find other options or become busy. Obviously this individual takes this very personally and chooses a rude, unhelpful approach to her customer communications.

So glad we didn't end up supporting this business.

We placed our English Cream Retreiver with Goldwing Kennels—Glenn and Sandy for a three month obedience training session. This was absolutely the best thing we could have done for her and us. The attention to detail in training, the love of animals exhibited by Glenn and Sandy, the excellent training of we humans—it takes a lot of hard work to learn properly so that our Sammie knew what we wanted. Can’t say enough good things about our experience!!! Would go back in a heartbeat!

I feel my words are inadequate to express the gratefulness and respect I have for Glen and Sandy at Goldwing Kennels. They were able to assist with correcting the behavioural issues our dog was experiencing (including reactivity to other dogs, poor recall and leash skills, etc.) that had stumped other trainers. Their compassion, kindness and understanding of dogs is incredible and I would not hesitate to recommend them to any dog owners looking for training and obedience. Our dog Pippen loves them too!

Leaving your dog with someone for bird dog training was hard for us to do but it was by far the right choice and the best investment I have ever made .
When you watch the dogs with Glen and Sandy you know they are well treated by the way they interact.
We learned how to work with other dogs and then with our own to give us tools , consistent communication with the dogs.
The range of dogs was amazing in both obedience and our hunting class .

Glen and Sandy are amazing! They really love each dog and work hard to make sure your dog has a great learning experience. Their prices are great and you're paying for more than just your dog to learn as they teach you as well. I highly recommend Goldwing Kennels to anyone looking for a great dog training experience!
