The family had a “Celebration of Life” for him and it was so smooth in the delivery right up to his burial. Tonisha and Kaitlyn were very professional and went the extra mile to ensure the photos selected were what we wanted. I thank them both for their dedication and commitment to the family. We recently had a death in the family and used First Memorial Riverview in Fort Saskatchewan.
We met with Kaitlyn, who was currently in her apprenticeship. She was absolutely fantastic in walking us through the planning process and answering questions about everything from cost to slide show and music to a third party casket and many other items in between. There were no awkward or uncomfortable moments at all. Any follow-up was done quickly and proficiently. She was supported by Tanisha the director and everything went incredibly well.
The funeral day was a seamless and stress-free event despite our service going longer than expected. Extremely professional and warm throughout.

The location of the building lends itself to being extremely easy for the entire funeral to take place. We used the chapel and then the reception room afterwards. Beverly was the hostess in the reception room and was also extremely accommodating with the food presentation.

During the difficult time of a death and funeral planning, First Memorial in Fort Saskatchewan is a wonderful choice.

I cannot adequately express how much I appreciate the people at First Memorial Funeral Services in Fort Saskatchewan. When my husband passed away suddenly, it was the darkest moment of my life but Neil, the Funeral Director at First Memorial, was right there guiding myself and my family through this difficult process. My husband was far from ordinary so we wanted to give him an extraordinary send off. Neil and his staff made this a reality and they did it with kindness, compassion and professionalism. We couldn't have found a better place to represent our mom who had passed. We wanted to celebrate her life in a way that felt like 'home' and Neil and his team made sure that's exactly how we felt. The catering was amazing. Neil's presentation of our mom's memorabilia was perfect. We were so impressed with how everything came together and we know that's due to Neil's skill and ability in handling such delicate matters with such finesse.

Shocked to have received a call yesterday from a young woman we never dealt with when we utilized the services of First Memorial close to 10 years ago. She veiled the call under the premise of "following up on some matters relating to the funeral and your husband's executorship". It was confusing in that the funeral was 2015. When I drilled down, it was a sales call. I was shaken. Why would a sympathetic organization dealing with family grief use a family death as a sales tactic? I told her we weren't interested in pre-planning with them. She chuckled then said airily "Okay! Bye then!" I wish now I'd asked her what was funny about my response.

I was so thankful for the amazing staff that were so kind and compassionate during the hardest time of our lives. Neil was very professional and sooooooo helpful. He guided us through what needed to be done to have a beautiful service. He answered all my questions over the phone or through email in a very timely manner. He made sure we had the information to plan service and do it right. I was very impressed with how we were treated and how the memorial went.
