I had an extremely disappointing experience with this financial institution. When I was in the process of switching my mortgage to another bank for a better interest rate, they deliberately delayed sending me the necessary paperwork until the last minute. This was clearly done to prevent me from making a timely decision and taking advantage of a better rate.

As a result, I was forced to accept a much higher interest rate of 9.99%, even though the standard rate set by the Bank of Canada is currently around 4.99%. This kind of behavior is unprofessional and shows a complete disregard for their clients' best interests.

I strongly advise against using this institution's services. My experience was not only stressful but also ended up costing me a significant amount of money. If you're looking for transparency and customer care, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Beware!!! DUCA has not honored their promotional terms and conditions for opening a daylight savings account promo. They kept changing/adding new terms and conditions and in the end disqualified me even after following all the laid out criteria. They refused to pay the promised bonus. Stay away form this institution at all costs. On top they have poorest customer service.

Terrible experience with DUCA. They promised ~$450 for five paycheques into a new account — I met all the terms, and now they’re refusing to pay, twisting policies last minute. This is dishonest and feels like a scam. Avoid DUCA if you value fairness and transparency.

My account details were changed without my knowledge or permission. Unbeknownst to me, I was paying a fee for several months or years that I did not even qualify to be paying in the first place. It was the 4 dollar (now 6) monthly fee for people over the age of 25 who do not have 1k in their chequeing at all times. I was not 25 or older at the time when they switched my account. It is absolutely diabolical for a CREDIT UNION to steal money from young adults.

I have banked with these guys for about 10 years. I was there today because one of my accounts was charging me an inactivity fee and I was a little annoyed by it. The guy who helped me said he had to get the manager to help him sign to close the account, but I didn't realize it was so he could credit me the fee back until after I left. I feel a little bad I was annoyed by the fee but they did the right thing for me. Good job!

Manager is also arrogant. Says staff are on lunch break. Staff won't even lift up their face and look at the growing lineup. Only one person attends clients; rest are busy on their computers. Same experience multiple times.

Despite disability (and making sure they were aware of my condition) I walked in to open an account today. No receptionist or anybody to talk to, couple of employees looking at me from way back completely ignoring that I am waiting. Finally one man walks around, I called him over and told him what I was there for, he pointed to the only teller helping a customer who must’ve been renewing his mortgage because several minutes later he still was busy. Then one guy walks up behind another counter and obviously uninterested in getting my business, he says I don’t have anyone available to help you! It’s 11:30AM on a Monday, so I’m not sure where “anybody” was that couldn’t spend ten minutes opening an new account. After explaining to him that I can’t come back, he offers an appointment later in the week! I once again explained my predicament but he was obviously uninterested and simply said bye. Why they spend their members in advertising for new accounts is beyond me, but they do. Strongly advise against doing business with these guys until they improve their customer relations. Horrible!

Avoid at all costs. Terrible experience with a mortgage product. I had a mortgage with Duca and was dealing with Marta who ignored my calls and acted as if she was doing me a favour by talking to me. Since was planning to sell the place asked about penalties. Was quoted $4k for mortgage cancellation. But when I sold the place few months later I got billed $17 thousand because of their own rate change.escalated to branch manager and nothing they could have done. Terrible experience. Avoid at all costs.
