I've been with Cowan a long time and the service has gotten worse every year. You rarely get to speak with someone who actually knows what they are talking about and I am getting incorrect and misleading information from Cowan staff. Cowan has grown too big and does not have staff who care. I've taken all my insurance elsewhere to get quality service. I would not recommend Cowan to anyone.
I did reply to the 'communications' reply and did not receive any answer from either my original email or their Google response. I'm now switching to another broker. Insurance brokers are only useful when you need them and Cowan has sorely let me down.

A number of years ago, after having almost an "annual tradition" of shopping the market for my own home and auto policies, I decided to give Cowan a try here in Paris. I had heard good things about it. They shop the market for the best rate (bonus!) saving me time and effort. I had local reps that I could call or email with any questions that I had. I had a person I could speak to. I would have (had I paid attention to these review options, given them a 4 or 5 out of 5 for the service I received)

Over the last year, maybe more, my experience has been less than lackluster. I have emailed questions to two previous contacts that I had regarding my house insurance. Over a month has gone by with zero response (and no bounce back either). I call and and am put on hold "there is a higher than normal...your call is important to us..." refrain. I leave a voice mail as an option that I am provided with through their automated phone system.

Sadly, the once personal service I received is no longer there. Another sign that success seems to breed complacency. Time to once again look for a local broker who is helping to look out for me.

pre covid when dealing with local office we had good service from local (Paris) office where we had a person who had handled our account for more than a decade; post-covid terrible service as a generic line which places you on hold or does not call back; never the same person and if they do call you are at work and they do not call back.... got a new car and they never called back to discuss rates after i called them.... which more than doubled... online quote elsehwere half as much.... they just sent new policy and started deductions at double amount without ever calling me back...looking at other options...
