I had a life insurance policy through Agnew Insurance for years, and never made any claims. My only dealing was when I tried to cancel. I called in March and requested to cancel. I recall that Tracey said she could not do it and told me to call again in October, when the policy could be cancelled at that time. I called again in October, and was told that the form would e-mailed directly. Nothing happened, so towards the end of the day, we went round to their offices. Tracy denied telling me that the policy could not be cancelled when I first called. Apparently she could have cancelled it when I requested it!! Instead I ended up paying about six months premiums ($50/month) for a policy I did not want!
Other reviewers have reported problems with cancelling their policies. The owner has responded to them that they should e-mail customer service. Fat lot of good that would do - here is a Google review instead.

Since we switched to Cooperators-Agnew Insurance in 2020, we've continued to be very satisfied with the clarity with which all of Cooperators' staff address the various questions we might have, and assist in adding or changing policies in a manner that feels satisfyingly like a win-win. Great customer service is gold in this day and age, when so many companies seek to keep personal customer contact at arm's length. While we have not as yet had occasion to make a claim, the research we did prior to switching to Cooperators caused us to believe they will come through in a professional, honest, straightforward way when and if the time comes. When a business answers all queries clearly and personably and treats you like a valued client, it makes a very positive impression that you're doing business with a trusted company - one that has provided insurance to Canadians since 1945. Kudos to the friendly, helpful staff we've had the privilege of dealing with at Cooperators thus far, such as Jasmine, Leah, Jadyn and Sara Livermore - whom we connected with very favorably when we first came on board with Cooperators!
