Can't call the branch any more. I tried and the local number said not in service. So I tried the 1-888 number and got their service centre elsewhere who said the branch "should' call me back within 24 hours. Not good enough!

I just called in from Duncan to have some info and the service was answered in Nanaimo, really helpful she was, no surprise here they have been growing lately, that is why they are doing it this way now.. for a better service as the peeps at the branch are busy with customers.. lots of transfer from TD.. provincial governed and not aware of any talk about moving to federal management.. they are only on the islandS of BC

ONE TIME EXPERIENCE
This isnt my bank but I had to come in to cash a cheque that was thru this branch. The staff were super helpful even though there were some glitches in cashing the cheque. Super nice and made me feel like IT WAS my bank.

COASTAL COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION is an awesome financial institution...Since the ISLAND SAVINGS merger with FIRST WEST CREDIT UNION, I have noticed a decline in customer service and with concern for it's members at ISLAND SAVINGS CREDIT UNION...The abrupt closure of ISLAND SAVINGS "Cowichan Commons" branch and ISLAND SAVINGS decision to disallow me member facing appointments with an employee who assisted me with my investment banking for over a decade has forced my family to look for a new financial institution...
I was relieved to discover my local COASTAL COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION branch in Duncan, BC...COASTAL COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION has a community minded, old fashioned small "bank" customer service atmosphere reminds me what ISLAND SAVINGS used to be...It is with great pleasure that I am moving my investments to COASTAL COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION from ISLAND SAVINGS...
I invite other ISLAND SAVINGS members who are not pleased with the recent direction at ISLAND SAVINGS to explore the merits of this true local Vancouver Island credit union...
