Excruciatingly irritating and annoying phone service. I believe I may have left my Vancity debit card in their ATM and tried to reach the specific branch in Duncan. There is no direct number to be found so I ended up calling the call centre where I spent about 5 minutes navigating a maze of options, none of which worked for someone with no account at Coast Capital. After that 5 minutes I was now on hold until I finally pressed 1 to get a call back. The call back came reasonably quickly and the person on the other end gave me a phone number to call the branch directly. I called and was met with a message stating that this number is not equipped to receive calls. I'm now back to square one and not willing to be on hold forever once again.

Just as bad as the big banks.

Several reasons for my 1 star review.
1) Poor design/choice of head office exterior reflective glass. The beautiful blueish glass reflects onto neighboring buildings.
I understand the reason for the annoying glass.
2) Sooke (Vancouver Island) lobby machines are old and slow. Plus they do not allow Coast Capital members to pay bills at the banking machines.
I have contacted head office for years asking when they will be replaced. The last response from head office was 'when the entire island can be done all at once'. The year before I was told, 'next year'.
I want my last four years of membership fees credited to my account as Coast Capital is not providing service I was getting when I lived across the street from head office. That location has new updated banking machines around the sun glaring building.

My grandma was experiencing technical difficulties and was locked out of her online banking account. I began to get frustrated and suggested that she switch banks due to the hassle that she was experiencing. She spoke to several operators who was unable to assist her and advised her to go in person. However, she had a flight to catch the following day and was stressed out. Despite, the trouble and the frustration, Operator “LEO” who assisted us from 1845-2000hrs, was extremely patient, helpful and able to resolve our issues, when no one else could.

If I could give negative star I would, by far the worst bank I have ever delt with why I tried to leave my bank for them I don't know... We tired cancel the bank account half year ago and I remember now why it was so hard to do that. When we signed up it was for free chequing account. My husband and I can't sign in on apps we called gave information we remember to get thru to get help they had no problem telling us we owe them money but couldn't tell us why. Even tho we tried to cancel the account and close it. Asking for 8 digits I don't have them I have estatments coming to my email and when asked what my email is they told me it's wrong if that's case why they sending to my email than? Not mention user name part the kept getting to go to nother line to press in my card number but it was telling me did u forget Ur card number even tho I was typing it in and I was calling because of that reason and she kept making me do it even tho it wasn't accepting it. Then telling me I need go into branch which makes no sense to me. She can say I owe money but can't tell me why so. Guess it will stay open and in negative for ever because they are not helpful

I asked at couple branches near my place and called lots of time. Trying to get a response for RESP is a challenge. I ask same questions on dispersing RESP; I got different answers. I went into a branch with financial advisor.
Talked to her and got some answers. But the RESP dispersement had not come through. I was told 5 business days. Now two weeks at least. Coast auto is not better. I tried to find out if I can lower my cost for car payment. Enquire and sent my documents in February, I did not get a response until I complain. What's going on.
