WARNING do not Trust this Financial Institution. In 2018 I brought my assets and business into the West Vancouver branch. Trusted them with my mortgage, they committed negligence by failing to open a basic business account until August of 2022 while holding my assets in a contractual five year fixed agreement and charging egregious penalties! Failed to keep my assets safe, secure and neglected to close my mortgage months after we closed. Causing me severe stress, anxiety, financial duress and hardship. DO NOT trust Coast Capital they are not equipped to provide financial services in a timely, professional manner that would meet any regular standards and fiduciary duty of obligations. They addressed me discriminatorily as "kiddo" after paying off two mortgages, over a 100k of student expenses and managing my business for over 15 years in Vancouver, British Columbia. Worst experience of my life, the decision to bank with Coast Capital cost my life's savings. SHAME ON YOU AND OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM !

Very Slow service. Only 1 staff take more than half and hour to take care one customer. And the bank atm is very old looking. Not like bmo or cibc can count bills. Very old and old...

Make sure triple time check your account Money!!!!
When I have deposit the Money, Teller counting my deposit money and she said everything ok..!! confirm and I was received receipt , after I leaving,
they withdraw all my money and redeposit $5.00 less then my original deposit.
Next day I complain, they said counting was wrong...
My staff counting, I counting, Teller counting 3 time.... at that time OK... after I leaving $5 bill was lower
I am sure Teller trick to customer...!!!!

I do not trust COAST CAPITAL.....

PLS DOUBLE, TRIPLE CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT

Bank is fine but the ATM is infuriating how glacially slow it is to use. Desperately needs to be replaced.

I went to widthraw money from my checking account that does not pay interest and the employee mentioned they did not have the cash at hand. I asked what other options they could provide me with and they said they could give me a cashiers check that would cost me $10. As someone with a balance of high 5 figures who is not receiving any interest this is robbery. So the bank is using my money to lend and invest making millions in interest rates and returns, While they charge me $10 for a check I have been banking with the big 5 for the past 20 plus years and the branch manager would waive fees for issues similar to this. Coast capital needs to empower its employees and understand that the cost of acquiring a new customer is higher than the $10 they charged me. For this reason I will be leaving Coast Capital and never reccomending this institution to anyone else. They Georgia Street Assistant Manager Laura needs to understand the value of a customer and not just provide clients with low level explanations on why she needs to charge thr $10 fee.

In short, they lost my business and I happily took it to Vancity. I moved up to YVR in Feb 2016. Prior to that, I had been in contact with Coast Capital for a month via email to make sure the credit union was right for me. After arriving in YVR I'd need a bank account of some sort in order to rent an apartment and put down first month's pay.. I was told all I had to was to come in person and they'd set me up with an account.

A week after arriving in Vancouver I made time out of my work morning to go into this branch. I did not have a permanent housing address yet as I had just moved to YVR. The ladies I spoke to at the desk told me I could not apply for chequing because I did not have a permanent address and that they would not accept a temporary address (my place of work) for bills to go to in the mean-time. Their reasoning? The ladies said it was because they were a CREDIT UNION and different from the banks.

Tell me, how am I supposed to get a permanent address if I do not have funds to pay for one? I went to Vancity and they laughed at that comment and happily signed me up. I'm still disappointed and upset I wasted my time conversing for an entire month with Coast Capital, which ultimately made my life more stressful after a cross country move, but happy it worked out elsewhere.

This has got to be the single slowest bank I have ever visited in my life. Even if I'm next in line I'm waiting 20 mins while tellers stand around talking.

Fantastic customer service. Multiple employees have gone above and beyond in helping me here. They really only want to help you, and do not try to hard sell you products you don't need.
