Broadmead Branch:
Slowest Bank Branch in the Province. So many employees, and so many of them on their cell phones.
And masks? What masks?
Make the people playing on their phones work as Tellers.
Tell every Teller to stop spending 5-15 mins in needless conversation with every person (it's ridiculous).
When you say anything, they say they are "short staffed", but the (unmasked) employees out number customers (in a huge open air room) 4 to 1.
No other bank has this issue, and this branch has these issues for a LONG, long time.

I had a debit card/account access issue this morning while trying to buy presents for Christmas. It's Dec 24th and my card is declining with money in my account. I call the bank, get the long difficult task of automated service and I just want a human to talk to. I finally get Bonita, I believe she said her name was.She asked me questions and gave me answers. She also went further by getting ahold of the right department right away, got the problem corrected and called me back. I was very upset thinking Christmas would be ruined when she called me back, I don't feel my appreciation came through. Bonita, thank you so very much. I appreciate everything you did for me this morning. I gathered the presents and Christmas will be nice. I wish you a very Merry Christmas. Thank you so very much for a job well done.

We got our mortgage done through this branch recently. We started talking at a certain interest rate on day 1, and on the day of signing the paperwork saw a higher percentage than what we had initially discuss. This was day 5. Brought it to the mortgage specialist's notice, but he said the deal is not valid anymore as the interest rate just went up that day! and that if I want the same lower percentage we will have to re-apply for mortgage to get necessary approvals. We felt we were being arm twisted into accepting the new higher rate, as we were about a couple days from removing the subject clause. All of this was within a 5 day period, and not several weeks or months neither was the hold up from our end neither were we price shopping.

We were quoted a smaller amount for the appraisal fee, but the final amount was much higher.

Likewise, We were quoted a certain amount for the lawyer fee, but finally paid WAY more. They "prefer" that we stick with their set of lawyers and would not let us use our own.

The staff is extremely pushy about shoving mortgage insurance, credit cards, and line of credit at higher rate than market rate, down your throat in spite of declining it several times.

We brought this to the management and sales staff notice, but they washed their hands off the whole case citing that we paid more because of the "rush". In fact, management was dismissive about my complaint and said there is nothing wrong in offering add on products. No accountability or value of their word whatsoever. I am open to add ons, but there is a fine line between being pushy and doing the job.

Moral of the story - We should have taken everything in writing instead of putting trust in the establishment right from the get go!

I will not be doing business with this branch.

Wow, 3/4 million dollar cheque. Moms been banking for years. Would not let us open a joint account to cash the cheque. Was advised to go pay the lawyer from the house sale to rewrite the cheque. Lawyer said the cheque was fine.
Terrible customer service, definitely don’t go there. They don’t care about your money, don’t care if you go to another bank with your money.
Run away….the one thing a bank should do for you is care about your money and they don’t.

$5.00 savings in your savings account I would suggest understanding those simple and their 80 year membership as well as how many other countless people they put first. I can do basically anything besides know in my heart it ain't gargantuan. But I find it pleasing that Coast Capital does not cap themselves no matter the season. I hope none of the other reviewers were complaining about their Free Savings Free Debit accounts. Yes there was some glitches and even breaches but even after you work around all of that FREE FREE FREE. WITH NO MINIMUM BALANCE. I do everything online with them, for a while Interac ETransfers were screwy but are ok now. Their ATM cards stink though this review isn't all sunshine and lollipops. They need to have real big boy atm cards with security codes that work with Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Since Covid it takes far too long to get in. Now that you have sold off your insurance aspect, you need for them to now have their own separate door (easily done, change current window to door!). Current lineups are for 2 or 3 reasons: insurance, tellers or atms. Come on fellas change the entrance way to three different entrances.

We're extremely pleased with the friendliness and assistance of all in this branch.
However, a serious shortfall is the telephone line, If you only wish to speak with a person for a quick question, it's necessary to listen to every automated message, then wait 10, 15, 20 minutes for someone to answer.
