Overall very friendly. But they have confusing policies regarding adopting cats that are not yet available for adoption. There was a cat I wanted to get who was not yet available because he had to be spayed, and I was told there was no way I could apply to adopt him until he was available in a couple weeks, but that I would probably get him because the shelter had already approved my application for pets before, I asked multiple times. I got a phone call two days later saying somebody had applied to adopt him and was taking him. When I asked how that was possible they said that the person had applied through a different animals application form, and apparently that’s okay and normal even though he’s “not available for adoption yet.” I was not happy, and hurt because I had already bought a bunch of stuff for the cat, and had told my family we were likely getting him.

A huge shout out to the Battlefords Humane Society!!! We had been looking for a fur baby for quite sometime and this beautiful boy was at the shelter and we instantly fell in love and he accepted us as his family as well. The staff were absolutely AMAZING!!! They truly care about the animals they look after. I highly suggest if anyone is looking for a forever fur baby adopt a rescue and speak the Battlefords Humane Society ❤❤

Went to bring in a kitten we found, 3 months old perfectly healthy. Told this was a no kill shelter. They told us they would put him down! We’re unable to keep him ourselves. We’re going all the way to Edmonton to find a place that doesn’t kill healthy babies.
