You can get a good price at the beginning. But good luck with the rest. To change the vehicle, it's 50%+ an increase in the premium. Need to cancel? Gave me the hardest time. And 0 customer service, the agent is not even listening to me. And called 10 times on 3-4 days every time I can not reach the local agents at Thunder Bay.

Not worth one star! Bin with these guys for years,never missed a payment,they just contacted me to say they are cancelling my home insurance policy because my house is over a hundred years old,I told the lady on the phone that my home was a hundred years old in 2008 and your cancelling me now? Yes today is January 24th,2025?she just said a letter will be mailed out and I only have one month left! No good reason at all,I pay a couple of thousand dollars each year and have never had a claim! Well I guess it's probably a good thing as they probably wouldn't have covered me anyway. So for anyone thinking of choosing these guys for home insurance I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

If you hate your money this is the company to back. You will have great features like a absolute absence of any accountability at your local branch, 45min to 1hr wait times to speak to someone who will proceed to do nothing or completely misinform you and attempts at coercion so you don't get what you actually deserve. I have been waiting almost 3 years for a call from the total loss adjuster after a tree fell on my car and spent north of 90 hours trying to get anyone to call me. I have not been provided with any repurchase options, why my car was written off or why they tried to bully me into a bellow market value compensation other than one manager saying they had a employee retention issue and training was rushed. I was recently t-boned in October and they finally called me in January when I reminded them after 20+ calls they are paying for my rental until they settle.

If anyone thinks the days of "snake oil" salesmen is gone, I give you this hot mess. I am no longer with this circus and pay less for better service.

I hope the manager gives his generic "I'm so sorry, call someone who cares" response to validate everything I just said.

We had a problem with our insurance policy when we are calling to customer service, so we decided to talk to an agent in the office. The front desk lady was informative and professional. Also, the agent helped us a lot, there were mistakes in the policy and she figures out and fixed everything for us, moreover, gave possible advice to reduce the monthly payment. We are so glad that we could solve this with the agent.

I've been on hold now for more than 15 minutes. This is a call for me to purchase a policy for my new home. I've had good service from Allstate in Alberta, and now moving to Ontario, but no one wants to answer the phone. If it's this hard to sign up, how difficult will it be to get help when I need it?

Terrible insurance company, no local service all outgoing calls go to Toronto, they continued to
Charge me house insurance for 14 months after I cancelled twice, when I finally realized it was a 3 week battle to get my money back (still waiting onnthe cheque) they hang up on you, brag about how they’ve been insurance brokers for this long, managers are never around to speak to you, can’t get ahold of anyone local, I can’t believe this is a actual company, and my auto insurance spikes all the time with no record or tickets or anything on my vehicle, I am gonna cancel that soon too but just ran out of energy arguing with them, they are not by your side or whatever the motto is, do not even bother with them, please save yourself a massive headache. Would give them zero stars if possible, thanks

Maybe they're too busy making money that they can't pick up the phone? Tried calling several times waiting on hold 15+ mins each time before hanging up. I won't be calling back a 4th time. I see what the other many unsatisfied clients who have experienced the same ordeal try other local businesses for assistance. Don't bother wasting your time on hold for a representative from Allstate in Thunder Bay, ON.

After 35 Plus years with Allstate and no response to my phone calls and email I thought I should share my experience.
In 35 years I have never missed or been late with a payment. Last month I had a breach on my bank account and the Bank locked the account that was set up for automatic payment to Allstate. As it is a secondary account I did not notice that the payment had not gone through until I received a letter from Allstate stating that my policy would be cancelled in 20 days if I did not pay.
I immediately called to get this sorted and the person took my CC# and applied two months premium. I asked if the monthly payments would continue and I was told someone would contact to set this up.
After a week no one called. I managed to contact a local agent and he said he would have someone call. Another week went by and no call. I called the local agent back and was then informed that my policy was cancelled for non payment. When I told him I paid it by CC he told me my payment had been refunded. I checked my CC and Sure enough it had been refunded. He told me someone would contact me.
A person called me the next day and told they had cancelled my policy because I had payed the wrong amount and still owed $70.
I explained that the person that took my payment had put in the amount and I gave her my CC# over the phone. It was not my fault that she put in the wrong amount.
I asked her if I pay the $70 would my policy be reinstated. She told me they would have to reassess my policy first and this would take three or four days. In the meantime I have had no coverage for almost three weeks.
I ended up calling another company to get a quote and they were happy to have me and my four policies.
If this is the service I got after 35 years it's obvious that loyalty gets you nothing with Allstate.
I am looking forward to dealing with a local agent that will take my calls and help me with my problems.
