I filed an online no fault automobile claim ACA588013 in Dec 2024 on the Allstate website. An Allstate email promised to get back to me in 3 business days from Dec 20. It is now January 9th. Yesterday I spent 2 hours on the phone trying to talk to a claims person and gave up.

Today at 11:02 am I trying once again and I am getting the usual "All our representatives are still assisting other customers..Please continue to hold for the next available representative" with elevator music. Then the message changed at 11:19 am to a frequently repetitive (and very irritating lie) message..."Your call is very important to us, please wait for the next available agent" They repeat this msg every 10 seconds and I find it quite irritating. Its now 11:35am and I am still waiting and listening to their message with no meaning..(my claim call is very important to us LOL) If we dont answer we can use your dough for float LOL. Still 11:51 and no agent....Now 12:02 and still waiting....an hour and nobody picks up. I might add, they have no email to contact someone in claims. 12:15pm....Got to talk to a person.

I have better things I'd like to be doing.....but am determined to wait for some agent to pick up....and document how long it takes.

Now I might mention, the Allstate offices in Calgary appear to have no claims representatives. Only salespeople. The only option is calling the claims number. So while they may be very good at selling you insurance, I can only conclude Allstate management is not keen on hiring enough claims advisors to service their policies over the phone. I am keeping records and will document how long it takes for me to talk to an agent. The sales guy sent my call to the claims number and said he doesnt do claims.

So customers pay on time, but the company does not appear to want to pay a claim in a timely manner. Sounds like a plan by some MBA to delay claims.

Are you "In good hands with Allstate" when its so difficult to talk to a claims agent...?

Contacted my agent for a renewed policy statement, he respond very late pushed me to the office line. Phone the office then put on hold for over 1 hr, then received a broken webline instead of a pdf. Reply to the email and the agent, no response. I just want a renew policy statement, how hard is that? Good luck folks.

This is directed at Allstate and not necessarily this branch. But I got screwed over and you won’t give me my money back.

I called 2 months ago to get my policies with Allstate insurance cancelled. They cancelled my auto insurance but did not cancel the property insurance and continued to charge me for 2 months before I noticed. I moved locations during this time so I was actually paying property insurance on a property that I did not live at anymore. I called at they said it is impossible to reimburse me.

On another note, my auto insurance increased every single year since I’ve been with Allstate. I only have 1 parking ticket to my name. Instead of rewarding good drivers, they will continue to increase your payments.

Just moved to Calgary from the USA and worked with Sue to get Allstate insurance in Canada. She was a great help, very efficient and made the transition from being insured in one country to another very smooth. She also was able to help me get coverage quickly under a tight deadline in order to register my vehicle within 14 days of inspection. I would highly recommend working with Sue I had an overall great experience.

I had an amazing experience with Susan. She was very friendly and funny to talk to on the phone. We all know that getting insurance over the phone can take over an hour, and it's usually a very annoying process, but Susan lightened the mood by being personable and fun. Oh, and she also saved me a ton of money on my insurance. TD didn't even come close to what she offered me!
