Do not get travel insurance with this company. Almost a year later and still trying to get my $10,000 hospital and ambulance ride back. They will not call you but send a letter stating they need detailed receipts. But because it is in Spanish it isn’t accepted. If your looking for a F/T non paid job trying to get your money back, this is the job for you. Oh and they work banking hours. You won’t have a job after dealing with them.

Never recommend this insurance to any Canadians looking for Travel insurace / health / auto insurance.
When you raise a claim they are going to reject it 100% and you cannot do anything.
Dont lose your money feeding this fraud companies. Please use Canadian owned companies .

We have been loyal RBC Avion card holders for 15 years for both business and personal, and have enjoyed the service by previous insurance providers. Since RBC switched to Allianz, I have been lied to, hung up on repeatedly, given call backs in the middle of the night with no contact information given. The agents have a very low level of English and had difficulty understanding letters to spell email address. After trying unsuccessfully for 2 days to get a letter of confirmation of coverage (one agent actually told me this was not possible and I needed to buy another policy), I am leaving RBC Avion and their fraudulant buisness partners Allianz Insurance. It is a total abusive scam corporation.

Have these crooks actually ever paid out an insurance claim? My travel companion (by their definition because both tickets were booked with my avion visa) broke his ankle a month before a ski-trip we had planed to Norway. Called the insurance company as soon as it happend, "oh yes ser, that is definitely covered" so we cancel the trip with hopes to re-book. I submit the claim and here I am 6months later just getting a rejection letter. I intend to fight it to the end of my days.

Also, no customer service what so ever, when you call them the person on the other end is no better then an automated recording.

Absolutely the worst insurance company I’ve ever had to deal with! While on vacation in Mexico in February I experienced significant shoulder pain. I went to a physiotherapist who after examining me, recommended I see a Arthropedic Specialist ( in Mexico you do not require Dr referral) . I contacted Allianz after doing this as they are my travel insurance company. I told their Agent what happened. I said the Dr had recommended I get an MRI. The agent authorized me to go ahead and get this done plus said my Dr visit would be covered. (Just keep receipts) I was told to contact Allianz if surgery was recommended ( It was not recommended as Dr wanted me to try a specialized. Physio program plus prescribed anti inflammatory meds)

Upon my return I submitted my claim. It has now been 8 months of continuous hassle to try and get this approved and it still isn’t done. I’ve resubmitted documents 3 times, spoken to 4 different agents with no success. Today (Dec) I was told to yet again submit copies of medical reports, etc despite having been told previously they had all documentation needed.

This claim in total is only $600 and the MRI which Allianz approved is over half the cost, balance is Dr visit & Uber.

It is as if Allianz is doing everything possible for me to give up on this claim. They’ve even sent me notices saying I have 90 days to get firms in or my claim is denied, yet they have had documents submitted multiple times.

I wanted to speak to Supervisor but was denied- just get the forms in I was told

I bought travel insurance through Westjet. Allianz covered job loss, I unfortunately lost my job, so I called to cancel my trip to get some money back. They said that because I didn't work for my company for 3 years that I could not get my money back. I read the policy and it didn't state that anywhere (I read the policy over a few times before buying). When I paid for everything it said on their website I would get my policy paperwork in the mail which I got nothing, no policy number, no emails other than surveys, nothing, they just took my money.

The best part is, I went through this circle for over an hour trying to start a claim to be told they won't cover me, I kept getting hung up on, being transferred around. I wasted money for a flight and wasted money for travel insurance. I will never buy insurance from Allianz again, nor recommend them. This feels like a scam.

Girlfriend purchased insurance. Shows on her credit card statement a deduction of 26.95 for travel insurance in cambridge with THEIR address as info. Say they don't have records of it and kept sending her back and forth. Now the evening before early morning departure, still no insurance! Will have to initiate a refund through credit card while on holidays...GREAT RIGHT? My girlfriend and I will never use their services ever again everytime we travel. Major losses for them over $27. Buffoons.

Not that another one star review is necessary, but do not waste your time or money with these guys and their travel insurance. Took five months to get a decision on a claim made for travel delays, denied due to missing documentation despite every document being provided. Calling them is a joke, if and when you finally get ahold of someone be prepared for the infinite lost in transfer loop. Am now out the money for the insurance policy itself plus all the additional travel costs accrued. Absolutely pathetic.
