Not a good experience. The place is small, the counter is an echo chamber so everyone behind you knows your business. No security guard. So there is this weird feeling of insecurity. And as I was explaining that, a black woman beside me started intervening with my private conversation and turned it into a racial issue. So she clearly was listening into my conversation and misinterpreted what i was trying to get across to the person i was dealing with.

Thankfully it was a small amount, but they CHARGED 25% to convert currency meaning
If you want to convert $1000 of something to cad , you will lose $250 , and have $750 left

They don’t tell you rates on the phone so you commit to going there , my advice is go somewhere else where you get a better rate , there is many like rbc

I was directed to this location by a Scotiabank(8505 Warden) employee, who advised me that I could pick up cash sent to me via Western Union transfer. I entered the office and noticed 2 employees, one was busy with another customer, the other one, an older man, was working on his computer and no other customer to serve other than myself, made me wait a long time before asking me what I wanted. When I told him, I was there to pick up cash, he said they are not associated with Western Union anymore. My question is, why the big sign outside(see image) that says "WESTERN UNION"? Why didn't they remove it?

I have frequent this location for foreign currency exchange a few times. The rate are better than the bank. It is easy to reserve funds online to secure the rate. So far, the transaction and experience each time was smooth. Though it is true that they may not always have smaller bills/denominations like the others have mentioned.

They do keep the doors locked at all times, and you can only go in through the front door (not from the back door through the indoor plaza, which was a tad inconvenient, especially during the cold weather!) They usually will open the door when they see you standing outside. If they are occupied, you will have to call their number to reach them to open the door.

Exchange rates from Interchange Financial is always better than the banks and it's really easy to order online. The staff at the pickup location is very friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommend.

I visited IFC Exchange today for the first time and was amazed to see how great customer service the lady at counter provided me. She gave me additional options to choose from for my future transactions. I personally like when someone tries to explain at length just to answer any questions that might pop up in future. Great service, great exchange rates.
