NCU was my first bank, way back when I was 16. I stayed with them till I was around 40 years old. I always liked the atmosphere of a small credit union, but ever since they got this new building it seems like they're getting more and more like the big banks. They don't know you by name anymore. When I went to get a consolidation loan I was treated like a stranger off the street and a number in a computer. Every time I went there for regular banking it took longer and longer due to less and less staff working the counter. I finally decided if I was going to be with a bank that felt like one of the big 3, I might as well be with one of the big 3. They have more banking power than a credit union ever will. Switched over to TD and haven't regretted it.

Compared to banks, I appreciate NCU's effort to provide good customer service and not being beholding to shareholders and corporate greed. App and online banking works everytime I use it. Senior's fees reasonable, no complaint. The Hub a much appreciated call centre experience having it staffed with NCU employees with access to account. I have 1 branch transaction a month. -* Only complaint is lack of wickets open at the beginning of the month. Contrary to teller that "everyone needs a break", I'm sure rescheduling lunch breaks and bring back office staff to the front would remedy this.

locked me out of my online access because i didn't use it enough, only gives me a paper statement every 3 months and now i haven't seen one in 9. the guy on the phone said they reinstated my account and i could use it in a few hours, never worked. called back and got the same useless guy.

they won't give me my balance details, not taking record of my payments, showing inaccurate loan balances with a bunch of "late adjustments" for 55$ and then a reversal of 440$?

Was never late for any payment, they are still taking payments.

What the hell is going on in your financial department.

I have tried to call this bank at multiple times and at multiple branches. I cannot reach a live human being. The service use rose be excellent and is now sub-par at best. During my most recent attempt to reach a human being on the telephone I was on hold for 20 minutes only to be told to leave a message or call back again. This is not service. Also, please don't comment on my comment, simply call me. I have banking that needs to be done!

Now I truly understand why I left them years ago!!!!!!!! Credit card does not work!! Then debit card does not connect to my account & now...sending deposits back to sender!! Boy...they need help badly!!!!!! This is just my "play account" but gotta move on to real banking....as I choose not to drive through snow storms so often & in line for 35 min to reassess THEIR issues!! Shame!!!! Really need a "tune up"

My wife Marion has banked at this establishment for many years. We have a dual account. Top marks for one of the staff for being able to transfer funds from another account at an agency. The agency while bona fide. was not too ready to have funds withdrawn quickly. Staff always ready to answer any queries.

My mom banks here and got charged $55 for a $0.26 overdraft. She tried calling them to try and fix it and nobody returned her calls. She's banked with Northern CU for over 30 years and has never been assisted with anything whatsoever.
