Both my family and I have been members of Alterna for the last 40+ years. During the course of this time period, I have had the pleasure of knowing Sonia Morrison. From childhood, up until now, Sonia has been nothing but consistent and trustworthy. From opening my first bank account and helping with the purchase of my first home, for example, she demonstrated not only knowledge, but also patience and understanding, and most importantly, unconditional care.
For me, Sonia stands out because of her WANT to go above and beyond. Regardless of the issue, she takes her time to explain things carefully, review and double check, and try to find the best outcome or possibility. Doing so throughout the years, has made me feel confident, ALWAYS.
When I had my son, Sonia made sure from the start that I was doing everything possible to set him up and myself up financially. Her advice for me regarding how best to save and set aside money for his post secondary journey was advice that I know she would have used herself for her own child.
Sonia does not view her members as individual bank accounts (if that makes sense). She sees and cares for them like family. My mother, who doesn't make it into the bank quite as often anymore always asks for Sonia:) Sonia never hesitates to also check in to see how she's doing.
I am incredibly grateful for Sonia's support over the many years. I wish that in today's day and age we had more Sonia Morrisons.
