A close friend of mine and his family has been struggling with these lawyers for about a year now. These delays have been greatly affecting the family financially as-well as emotionally after the passing of a family member. After hearing the trouble these folks have gone through I would not recommend this firm to anyone in need of a lawyer.

Sharna, the conveyancing solicitor, was a nightmare to work with. Her service was the most stressful part of selling our home. Due to late submission of the home sale contract to our lender we were charged an extra mortgage payment. Upon the completion of the sale we were told the funds would be direct deposited. After providing direct deposit information twice she told us she was too busy to do the deposit. We had to expedite the cheque ourselves to Victoria causing an extra week to receive the funds, and additional fees from our lawyer to organize the deposit. The sale finalized in May, in July I received a message from Sharna stating for me to respond to a “urgent” matter. The urgency was due to a $3 charge from the bank that needed to be paid. Not urgent.
I am giving one star to Duncan Smith as he was professional and pleasure to work with from the firm.

Extremely fast and professional service. Duncan Smith was great 10/10 would recommend. Even the receptionist/legal assistant was very kind and helpful too. Their positive attitudes were incredibly welcoming.

I was purchasing a house. I can't evaluate the quality of the final work yet. But, they managed to complete everything fairly quickly. But it was very difficult to reach them on the phone when I needed or was asked to call them. They also forgot that I had already provided some details that were needed.

We went with Smith Alliance out of sheer ignorance. I would never recommend this service to anyone. Completely botched our file when we bought a house. They didn't get the title into our name until 4 months after possession date and only did after I hounded them. This made us miss our utilities bill and due date and were charged a late penalty. Crystal there is very unresponsive and hard to get a hold of. She told me they would pay the late fee but then ghosted us for new clients, probably.

I can’t say enough about Blair and Michelle. A friend needed a lawyer urgently and they showed up the very next day. They went above and beyond to help. I would not hesitate to call them or refer them to all my friends.

We used this office for a purchase and never had such a bad experience than this.
I was told to wire my funds to a wrong account and Crystal there, is not responsive. I am now over 30 days from the close of Escrow and have not received my Closing Package or even know if I truly own the property. I would not recommend them at all.

I highly recommend using smith and alliance lawyers and notaries, I had 1.5 hour deadline to get my affidavit notarized and they squeezed me in in a monuments notice. the atmosphere and energy of the staff made my experience so much better! They were kind, funny and very helpful. I will be using smith and alliance for any future needs I may have!
