I will start this review with it did seem like a great place to change to, as I'm RCMP and they seem to be RCMP friendly. Joke is on me.

I have contacted Dyck to take over my new home insurance and my vehicles. I was quoted prices by multiple places, I picked the best rate, and with it bundled (home and auto) it made a great deal. I signed up. Without any communication the adjuster changed insurance company providers from Economical (which is who I chose) to Portage La Prairie, she thought it would be cheaper,
Once my insurance came out of my account, I noticed it was much higher then the quotes I approved. I emailed my adjuster and let her know something isn't right. That's when I was informed that she made the change as she thought it would be cheaper, she acknowledged she did it without my consent, and said she would look into fixing it, but it was still processing so nothing could be done just yet. I then called and emailed again. I was told they would look into it, no reply. I contacted them again, I was told my adjuster had changed, and so I emailed them and explained I still had no resolution. She said she would look into it. No reply. I then contacted them again, she spent the day searching threw to see that was done. I was then told it was because they didn't apply my security system to my quote so that my price was also higher, (documents were provided sharing my house has an extensive security system) but they didn't apply it to the quote, and didn't tell me that they didn't. Not only was the company changed without my authority, my security system was not even input on my contact, because she didn't get a certificate from me ( I provided my security bills but not a certificate and was told that was good to go) which she never asked for, she told me everything was good. I then RE-PROVIDED my security bills and contract dated back to when I signed up for my insurance. She was going to process my security now, (it's April) and I've paid 6 months the extremely high rate I didn't authorize. I'm paying when I should be getting a discount for security. I'm now being told they can switch me back to the provider I chose originally but the price has increased and they won't honor the quote I authorized to begin with.

This is all DYCK Insurance issues. Who has the authority to override my choice, certainly not my adjuster, and then not communicate any changes or issues. I'm now 6 months in, and have paid almost 800 too much. And all they can tell me is "they understand why I want to switch brokers entirely".

I am actually disgusted by this whole situation, I have all my emails and my brokers emails stating what I asked for, I have all the receipts of no returned communication.

This is NOT RCMP friendly. I wouldn't recommend Dyck to my friend or co-workers. Shame on you for your terrible business practices. You don't get to override my choices and then not fix it when you acknowledge you messed up.

Constantly chasing our broker for answers.
Not progressive in forwarding quote for next year.
Does not post an out of office notice in email and no one handles client while gone.
Lack of competence and generally I'm disappointed and dissatisfied.

Would not recommend.

I have been driving for 25 yrs and had insurance in almost every province. Dycks insurance is hands down the best in Canada. Great to work with, fair prices and the staff go above and beyond. Shout out to Shannon who's the best in the business!

When I called Daryl to cancel my policy on purpose he avoided me a couple weeks so another payment would go through then when I called him many times and he offered me his co worker think Tina I was waiting over a week for a quote for insurance for a different type of insurance it's been over a month a weeks and Daryl has not got back to me on if I am getting a refund or owe money for canceling my insurnace and not happy I could of canceled sooner and got more money back

Started good really good first few years, no tickets no claims no nothing and suddenly rates went up, didn't have time to search for another rate, forced to stay with them, this will be my last year with them, however getting a hold of them and the ability to speak with someone is still good
