We were told we had “won” a free air purifier from a draw we entered at a local tradeshow. At the booth, we were told there were two options: book a demo to receive a gift, or enter a draw for a chance to win one. We declined the demo and only entered the draw.
Later, we were contacted and told we had won — but when the rep arrived, it quickly became clear we had actually been scheduled for a full in-home product demonstration. They used our information to book a demo we never agreed to, which feels like a misuse of our entry and our consent.
The demo wasn’t overly aggressive, but it was clearly part of an MLM setup. We were told afterward that we could “refer them to friends and family,” which made the whole thing feel more like a lead generation tactic than a genuine prize. And because we weren’t able to sit through the full demo, they actually took the “free gift” back — saying they could only leave it once the full presentation was completed.
This felt like a classic bait-and-switch. Under Canadian law, specifically the Competition Act, it’s illegal to promote a prize without clearly disclosing the conditions to receive it. Ad Standards Canada also requires that any contest or giveaway clearly state all relevant terms upfront — which absolutely didn’t happen here. On top of that, contacting someone under the pretense of prize fulfillment when the real purpose is sales-related raises serious concerns about how our information was used.
We were open-minded at first, but the whole thing felt misleading and disappointing. If you’re approached in a similar way, just be aware of what you’re getting into.

Had the most wonderful experience with the rainbow dealers that came to my house. They were both so informative and professional. After seeing what the rainbow could do for my health and home, there was no way I was letting it leave my house! 10/10 would recommend to everyone to at least see the rainbow in action. You will fall in love with it too!

I absolutely love my rainbow. The girl who came to do my demo was so kind and caring. I was having problems with allergies, and never felt like my home was clean. I'm breathing substantially better and my home actually feels clean now. Love it so much

I absolutely love my rainbow!! Best product i have ever seen! I couldn't imagine ever going back to the gross way of cleaning! I have had my Rainbow for 5 years now and it still amazes me every time i use it!

I bought my Rainbow 4 Years ago almost 5 and I am so glad I did! with my allergies I have developed within the last year or two, I get a big sigh of relief in my home! They are certified with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation which has definitely paid off as I turned out to be one of those 1 in 3 statistics of people who develop those respiratory problems or allergies due to Dust Mites and their Fecal Matter. Thank you for allowing me to breathe fresh air in my home for my family and I!!!

These guys are amazing. The staff is always there to help. An oh my don’t get me started on the machine. It is absolutely the best machine in history. Who doesn’t want a clean home with clean air. I know for sure i do and with the rainbow that is exactly what I’m getting 😀 my family is breathing better. My kids aren’t sick as much its amazing

I am so happy with my Rainbow system and am constantly shocked by everything it picks up! Definitely wouldn't use anything else to clean my home and it does wonders in helping out with my boyfriends allergies. Best purchase ever!!
