I have no idea how Linda and her firm stays in business. I had her handle the accounting of a simple estate of relative as the firm did the taxes for a number of years prior to her passing away.
It was a nightmare dealing with her. She has no concept of time. The terminal tax information and slips were sent to her in March. Repeated e-mails and phone calls asking when she will be doing the taxes were ignored. She waited until the last day of April. At 5:00 PM on that Sunday she kept phoning and e-mailing me about tax slip, all of which I have sent to her much earlier. It was a major scramble to pay the due taxes and avoid the penalties.
The taxes had to be reassessed as a significant portion of the state was bequeathed to charity. She put the charitable contributions as university tuition fees. She ignored a letter from the CRA requesting clarification. My phone and e-mails requests to fix the matter were ignored. I had to send the charitable contributions receipts and answer the CRA letter myself
Things got worse for the final estate taxes for two years. These were simple. All the slips were sent to her. It took her between July 2022 and December 2023 to do this. Repeated e-mails and phone calls to her were ignored. When I could get hold of her she kept promising she will get this done soon but to no avail. It is only when I told her that I will be firing her by the end of the week if they are not done that she got them done. Even then both terminal taxes had mistakes which I had to point out for her to correct and redo.
I am still trying to wind down the estate over three and a half years later because of her sheer incompetence.

After leaving our taxes with LLS Financial for 5 months, and zero response to emails or phone calls asking for updates, we were forced to revoke consent and withdraw all business. Do not go here.

Their service is absolutely appalling. I had to call 5 times to get my taxes finalized and was told each time it would be done by the following week. Each time I called the following week I was told the same thing. I finally said I wanted to pick up my papers and take them elsewhere and they said, “Oh, they’re waiting at the front door. We’re just waiting for you to come in and sign them,” as though I was the reason they were not done. Rude and disrespectful with my follow up questions today. I will never use them again!
