The staff and volunteers are wonderful here. They have done some wonderful changes here. They have a wonderful farm program here that brings in fresh vegetables. Thank you for the wonderful help that you bring to this community. The people here are positive and willing to help also. Edit: to the person who gave a 3 star rating they have lots of fresh vegetables from our local farmers.

Was shocked to see the food bank was closed at 1:20PM today, when their posted hours are 10am-2pm. I was even more shocked when a food bank staff, in a parked Food Bank van, started complaining that it was really slow today since yesterday was "cheque day", they were very expressive their frustration and told me they "have appointments to get to". Being that I was picking up food on behalf of a client, I asked if we could still get some. Was very reluctantly told that I could, while they listed reasons why they didn't want to (there's no fruits and veggies, its already put away, I should have called ahead of time so they wouldn't close early...). By the time this staff was approaching the door to the food bank, I relented and said I would come back another time, though they aren't open for another 4 days unfortunately. It was an incredibly uncomfortable situation overall, I understand that the food bank staff was stressed and booked appointments during their business hours that they had to attend and that took priority over rendering the services that the food bank provides. I find it very concerning that food bank staff are able to all but outright deny services based on personal convenience. The way this staff was behaving was very rude, to the extent that myself and my passenger don't believe we've ever encountered such poor behaviour like this from anyone who was "on the clock" before, at any organization or business.

Perhaps the posted hours online should be updated to reflect the genuine hours that they provide services, and outside of these hours its by appointment only.
