When we needed help his team members are very efficient and took great care in packing our belongings.

Belated review now that the job has been concluded:

Eric was good at being professional and taking accountability for work that needed to be re-worked, as well as being flexible. Unfortunately, a significant amount of the work did need a second attempt.

The asbestos and mould removal people were good.

I appreciate the extra coat of primer as requested.

However, prepared to babysit for work quality, and manage the project status, and next steps yourself.

Wasted a lot of time sorting through the finger pointing trying to cobble together the flooring replacement quote for insurance.

Understaffed, then lost their admin assistant and job supervisor. Staff / sub contractors varied wildly in experience, and rookies were sent without supervision to do sub par work.

Lack of basic communication: on job status changes between contractors and Management.

-Staff failed to show up on the agreed dates, or would show up without the required tools and leave.

-Management often assumed the job was farther along than it actually was. We had to call them and have them hunt down their staff.

We chose to end the job prematurely and DIY the finishing touches.

Spent many months working out the invoice to weed out items that were not actually needed, but were on the initial insurance estimate. The final provided invoices were close, but never did match.

Asked for a quote on another job that would play to RKI’s strengths, but the invoice for that one was also convoluted/unclear. (Even without insurance) After our previous experience we wanted to avoid a second headache of re-clarifying the scope of the new job.

I would like to thank the people from Rocky Cross Construction, Erik Skaarup for taking control of the situation and making sure everything was put in place. Josh, sorry I do not know the last name, for cleaning up and covering up the window that was broken during the incident. I would also like to thank Danielle Smith and Raeanne Lutz (Medicine Hat) for removing all the smoke and ash residue throughout my home making it cleaner than it has ever been. Thank you again.
