If i could leave a zero star review I would. I have been insured by this company for years and their rates and customer retention strategies are ridiculous. I contacted them about a better rate, or a revised quote and was told thats the best they can do. Their best was 30 - 40 % higher than the competition, not to mention that when I did have to deal with them for a claim, they were a nightmare. If you want to have the full experience, wait until you are in an accident that is the other persons fault and you are both covered by this broker. ABSOLUTE nightmare. I asked to speak to someone higher up in the company to discuss how i could get a better rate, or why they don't have any customer retention strategy and I was told "No one will be reaching out to you." I was dealing with an individual named Tyler or Kyler, and the service was less than stellar! Go elsewhere if you can!

Was able to save $1000 by switching to a different insurance company. Also removed me from my parents insurance in 2020 because of my driving record, which is one ticket from 2018, for some reason they let my parents renew for two years without any issues or upcharges and then all of a sudden couldn’t insure my name anymore. I absolutely recommend switching companies if you are a current customer here. I went ahead and left & took my parents and my brothers business to another company. I recommend you do the same.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR INSURANCE NEEDS !!!

Well, this is the most frustrating and disappointing experience i have ever had with this company!! I have held multiple insurance policies with them for over 30 years, started with Doug Settle who provided excellent customer care and service. It is not that way anymore, the quality and professionalism has gone downhill since he left and retired.

If you want a company that is local, easily accessible, provides comprehensive service that is accurate and a company that is accountable for their work.....

My nightmare experience started last year at the beginning of covid 19, March 2020, I moved and attempted to get in touch with the staff at Meyers Insurance Sherwood Park Branch (of which I have had my insurance with for over 30 yrs!!) to change my address, add a vehicle and update my personal information. NO ONE WAS ANSWERING PHONES, NO ANSWERING MACHINE, NO ONE RETURNED EMAILS (including directly the agent I was dealing with prior to the covid closure) FOR OVER 9 MONTHS!! Johnson Insurance staff stated they have nothing to do with the individuals at this broker and in order to sort out a mistake the Insurance agent made I needed to contact Meyers Insurance staff to ratify it. AT NO TIME DID MEYERS INSURANCE STAFF RETURN EMAILS OR ANSWER THEIR PHONE/HAVE A ANSWERING MACHINE WORKING.
Their staff mistake cost me money and impacted my insurance rating, their staff mistake can only be ratified by a Meyers Insurance staff member. When contacted to escalate my customer concern to a manager with in Meyers Insurance Sherwood Park Branch, the call taker from St Johns NFLD indicated there was no way for me to get this information as he did not have it. I repeatedly called the local SH PK phone number , local 800# which used to get one directly with Meyers Insurance staff, but to no avail, no one from Meyers Insurance answers the phone, they farm out to a call centre across the country.
Repeated attempts to speak with someone in charge of this office, a manager, the owner , anyone that is accountable for the staff at the company has been unsuccessful, Johns Insurance call takers state they are not responsible for the brokers at the individual brokerages and that I need to contact them directly. Well no one seems to know who is responsible for the brokers at Meyers Insurance. The local phone number gets transferred to a call centre in Newfoundland, as does the 1800#, doors are physically locked + closed at their offices.

If the was a "no STAR" option to rate this company, they qualify. Their customer service is atrocious, reliability non existent, staff accountability for work- nil.

Don't consider this company if you need accessibility, reliant accurate work or accountability by your broker, they are not a company to trust!!

I have attempted to cancel my parents insurance 5 times, each time it was a different run around. The latest was mind blowing, I spoke with a company representative told her I was coming to the office to show her the documents, she said fine, I get there and the office is closed due to Covid. One would assume that someone working there would know this? So a wasted a trip down there and 2 more calls into the office and still nothing. This agent is horrible... run and run fast! I asked to email them the information and nope they do not have emails, so I continue to attempt to cancel a policy and no one is able to help me. I asked to speak to a manager and they could not provide me one for at least 3-5 days. It has taken me over 2 weeks to get no place. Not sure how there could be so much confusion over a simple policy cancelation.

Over priced policies for a secondary brokerage company that can not do anything directly for you. Poor customer service all the way around. If anything goes wrong with your home or auto insurance. This is not the company you want to handle your case.

I use to really like Meyer's but they have changed something with their phone and direction systems. I was put on hold three times only to end up getting the same person. They use to be so easy to work with, were 5 stars last summer. I am likely going to be changing providers in an effort to actually my my property insured instead of spending hours on the phone.

Carried both commercial and home insurance with them. Was misinformed regarding allocating drivers to company vehicles. First accident and they allocated the youngest driver to the vehicle even though they weren’t driving the vehicle for the accident. Cost $10,000.00 increases instead of waived first accident. Not helpful for personal and don’t respond. Not sure what they really do. Already moved my corporate policy and will most definitely move my personal policy ASAP
