I waited for one month and was very excited to receive my new passport. However, finally, I was informed that I needed to come back to the office and provide additional information because they forgot to save a copy of my driver's license. And I was killed all my time in there 2 times for line up. As a result, all my travel plans were completely changed ?‍♂️

Typical Service Canada center in the city of New Westminster. I recall going to the office years ago, and there were no people lining up for anything... I was the only person going in... renewing my passport... literally went in... dropped down the form with an officer to review and take in within 15 minutes... this time, I was helping someone to submit a renewal, and it seems to take forever... already a lineup early in the morning...

My girlfriend and I needed to get our SIN numbers and we were in and out in less than 30mins. The lady that helped us with our papers was so sweet. Not only was she very calm and patient with us, she was also very interested in our lives and told us about her family. She made us feel comfortable, sorted our papers quickly, and gave us some advice on how to navigate life in Vancouver. I believe her name was Mila but I might be mistaken. Strongly recommended place!

They don't have enough capacity to serve people. Canada is known for Immigrants and Immigrants especially International students walk in here to get their Social Insurance Number (SIN) and there a 1-1km long lines. immigrants are too much but Service Canada centres are very less. If you are an immigrant coming here to get your SIN no. It can take anywhere from 1 to 5 hours or even more because of the crowd. The solution of this problem of waiting is that you can apply online but it can take upto 10 days that is the main reason why most of the immigrants walk in here to get the SIN no. right away. I request team Service Canada that you are really doing a great work, you are addressing bulk number of clients daily. I just request you that if it's possible do the online system fast so that we don't have to wait for 10 days and this will also make the crowd less at all service canada offices because if online process also takes same amount of time as in walk in then people will for sure go for online services. Great Job Service Canada.

I had an appointment at 10:30 a.m. on a weekday to get a new passport. I strongly recommend booking an appointment online, as the walk-ins ahead of me were told to expect a wait time of more than 2 hours, while the whole process took me under 14 minutes and I was out the door by 10:45 a.m. They get booked up quickly, so you should book around 2 months ahead of time or keep checking the site for cancellations. You may be lucky and catch an earlier booking date.

The front receptionist was very welcoming and the rest of the staff were fine. Be careful, as their website states they accept exact cash, but at the location, they only accept debit or credit. They tell you this at the very end, so make sure you have payment ready, or else they will reject your application and you will have to come back to redo the whole process at a later date.
